Susie's Newspaper Remembrance

Created by Dustin and Molly 9 years ago
Susan Santos, 59, passed away Friday the 21st of November, with her family by her side in San Diego, CA. Susie was born September 1st 1955, in Towanda, PA to John Joseph Rush and Phyllis Ann (Davis) Rush. The family moved to California in 1961. Susie was known to everyone that she loved as a strong, and compassionate person. Her family and friends knew that they could lean on her, because before anything else, she was a caregiver to all. Her selflessness was apparent in many aspects of her life. A supportive mother, wife, daughter-in-law, and sister…so many were so lucky to benefit from her giving nature. Susie was also a business owner in the Castro Valley and Hayward communities, running her own landscaping business for many years. After hours outside making others’ world more beautiful, she always found the energy to cook dinner and spend time with her mother-in-law before taking care of herself. Susie had many interests, always known for her green thumb and ability to throw together a home cooked meal for any and every one. She also loved to spend days in the city with her sisters and grandson. Holidays were always a special time for the family, as Susie played hostess, and everyone was guaranteed a good time full of food, drinks, games, and above all else, laughter. Susie is survived by her husband, Charles Santos and her mother in-law Agnes Slade. Her siblings, Marcy Boyd, Mike Rush, Katie Scott, Patty Beth, John Rush, Heather Rush, and Angelli Denmon. Susie is also survived by her sons, Dustin Ayers and Tyler Ayers and her grandson, Caden Ayers. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. We may feel that Susie left us too early, but her loved ones know that she faced everything in her life with courage and determination. She will remain in our hearts forever and we are all stronger because of her. A celebration of Susie’s life will be held at one in the afternoon on the third of January, 2014 at Piedmont Community Hall. 711 Highland Avenue, Piedmont, California 94611 Donations may be sent in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
